Multifunction Smartcard Reader for Motorola MC90xx-S

This accessory for the MC90xx-S terminals provides a Smart Card and Memory card capability. The unit attaches semi-permanently to the base of the MC9000 short variants.  In addition the Smart Card reader provides an IrDA port to enable infra-red communications on the Terminal and a three wire, RS232 serial port. A DC in socket is provided to allow the Terminal to be charged with the accessory attached.

The Smart Card Reader is compliant to ISO7816-1,2,3,4, supports T=0 and T=1 protocols and Synchronous and Asynchronous mode. The reader is based on industry standards, including PC/SC, EMV, FINREAD and Common Criteria to address a wide range of applications across government, enterprise and financial sectors.

The accessory is currently compatible with MC9000 short variants. Other MC9000 variants could be supported for volume applications.
