The reader
upgrades the Motorola™
MC75 and MC70 to provide the
capability of reading and
writing EPC Class 1 Generation 2
(ISO 18000-6C) transponders. The
combination of the two devices
provides a versatile mobile
handheld UHF RFID reader
solution. The reader
snaps on to the bottom of the
host terminal. A rechargeable battery
is used in the reader to avoid reducing the run time
of the host terminal. The reader
battery and host terminal can be
charged together giving a "one
piece, one charge" solution. If
necessary the battery can be
swapped out in applications
requiring continuous operation.
The reader is suitable for
operation in European
regulatory environments,
including Dense Reader Mode.
The reader includes a circularly
polarised antenna facing out of
the rear side.
